All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jackson scored five runs in the sixth inning to hand host Festus just its second loss of the season Tuesday in softball action.

The Indians (11-6) trailed 4-3 entering the fifth but emerged with a 9-4 victory against the Tigers (20-2) in the finale of their regular season.

Mollie Crader had a home run and two hits for the Indians, while Brooke Whitledge had a double among her three hits. Casey Holzum and Kaitlyn McHughs both added two hits.

Winning pitcher Mallory Jones allowed just one earned run in seven innings. She gave up six hits, walked four and struck out three.

Jackson begins Class 4 District 1 play at home at 6:15 p.m. Thursday against the winner of a first-round game between Central and Hillsboro.

Chaffee 12, East Prairie 1

Cierra Crites blasted her third home run of the season to help the Red Devils to a five-inning victory in the final game of their regular season.

Winning pitcher Hailey Enderle added a three-run double, while Adrienne Eichhorn and Kaitlin McFerron also had doubles. McFerron finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Enderle allowed one hit over three innings. She struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Chaffee (7-13) begins Class 2 District 1 play against Saxony Lutheran at noon today in Scott City.

Scott City 5, Perryville 2

Becky Burger and Alexis Spriggs combined on a four-hitter to help Scott City to a home victory on senior day.

Burger collected the win with three innings of one-hit relief. She struck out three and walked no one. Spriggs allowed three hits over the first four innings. She struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Lindsey Rendleman led Scott City's seven-hit attack with two hits, including a triple. Shelby Rhymer added a double.

Aleshia Reiss took the loss for Perryville.

Scott City will host the Class 2 District 1 tournament. The Rams face Portageville in a first-round game at 4 p.m. today. Perryville will play Fredericktown at 4 p.m. today in the Class 3 District 1 tournament today in Potosi, Mo.

Aimie Simmers had 11 kills and Liza Gray had nine in the Hornets' road win.

Gray also led the defensive effort with 13 digs, and Allie Below dished out 25 assists. Haley Kennison added five kills, Grayson Miles had three kills, while Jacqueline Maddox had six digs for the Hornets (19-3).

Caitlin Perry had 11 kills and Alli Woodfin had 10 in the Wildcats' sweep on the road.

Perry also had five assists, three aces and two blocks, while Woodfin had three aces and five digs. Denai Arnzen added five kills and seven digs. Sydney Eeftink collected 18 assists and had three digs for the Wildcats (18-3-1).

Soccer

Perryville 10, Festus 0

Nick Pingel scored three goals in the Pirates' road rout.

Luke Schlichting and Alex Thieret both added two goals, while Emilio Mattingly, Austin Roth and Kyle Wood all had one goal.

Nate Kinnison had three assists, while Roth and Matt Moran both had two.

Luke Dobbelare recorded the shutout in goal for the Pirates (10-3).

GIRLS TENNIS

Notre Dame 5, Dexter 3

Host Notre Dame won its semifinal match in the Class 1, District 1 team tournament.

Reagan Kapp, Anna Unterreiner, Maddie Walker and Emily Young all won singles matches for the Bulldogs. Kapp and Carly Hopkins prevailed in doubles.

Notre Dame will play at Kennett today at 4 p.m. for the district title.
