High school roundup: Jackson soccer routs Central 6-0

Jackson junior Kasey Crowden scorched the nets against rival Central on Tuesday.

Crowden scored the Indians' first five goals in their 6-0 victory in girls soccer action.

Erin Eakens added a goal and three assists, while Jordan Myer recorded an assist.

Brooke Sanders was in goal for the first half, while Morgan Riddick took over in the second for the Indians (12-3).

Saxony Lutheran 9, Oak Ridge 1

Matt Stueve allowed just one run in a complete-game effort for the Crusaders.

Trent Steffens connected for two doubles and drove in four, while Spencer Sander went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Crusaders (10-7).

Brett Thomas and Lucas Rohde both collected two hits for the Blue Jays (8-9).

Dalton Eftink notched the win on the mound, allowing five hits in seven innings. He stuck out seven and walked one.

Losing pitcher Ian Householder allowed five hits in six innings. He struck out nine and walked five.

Class 3 District 1

Notre Dame will send four golfers to the Class 3 state tournament.

The Bulldogs shot a 334 to finish second at Monday's district tournament at Crown Point Golf Club.

Gunnar Knudtson recorded the Bulldogs' low score of 79 for third place.

Dexter won the tournament by shooting a 322, led by Chance Holden, who shot even-par 72.

Perryville took ninth with a 423.

Notre Dame's Tyler Arpin (84), Kurt Heischmidt (85) and Jake Seabaugh (86) will join Knudtson at the state meet.

MCSAA state meet

Eagle Ridge senior Emma Shell took first in three events and set state records in the 100 and 200.

On the boys side, senior Bill Shell set a state record in the 400 and took first in two events.

The girls team finished seventh with 61 points, while the boys took fifth with 48 points.
