Jackson needed penalty kicks to claim the Notre Dame SoccerFest title Saturday.

The game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, and the Indians held on to edge host Notre Dame 3-2 on penalty kicks.

Keagan Cavanah had two goals in regulation, while Law Duncan added a goal for the Indians.

Austin Baker was in goal, helping the Indians improve to 3-0.

Matt Ponder, Jonathan Lynch and Philip Schuchardt all had a goal for the Bulldogs in regulation.

Aaron Arzen and Lynch recorded one assist apiece.

James Holloway had 10 saves in goal for the Bulldogs (2-2), including three saves to start the PKs.

Carbondale took third place by beating Central 4-2, while Marion, Ill., blanked Sikeston 2-0 in the fifth-place game.

Murray, Ky., edged Saxony Lutheran 3-2 in the seventh-place contest.

Notre Dame SoftballFest

Katie Bond tossed a one-hitter to lead the host Bulldogs past Kelly 4-0 in the title contest.

Bond struck out four, including the side in the seventh inning, for the victory.

Summer Burger provided the offense with a two-run homer. She added a double.

Jade Rampley's double was the Hawks' lone hit.

Hali Rendleman, Jessica Menz, Bond and Sadie Schaefer all collected two hits for Notre Dame (7-0).

Kelly needed 10 inning to down Oran in the semifinals. Oran went on to lose to St. Pius in the third-place game.

Jackson Invitational

The host Indians had three runners take first place in their invitational.

Noah Weatherby won the freshmen boys division for the Indians in 11 minutes, 23 seconds, while Meg Fridley took the girls' side in 13:33.

Taylor Dickerson won the senior girls race, while Lindsey Seabaugh followed in second place.

Oak Ridge's McKenzie Elan took first place in the sophomore girls race, while Scott City's Brandon Shemonia won the senior boys race.

The freshmen division ran 1.9 miles, while sophomores, juniors and seniors ran 2.35 miles.

VOLLEYBALL

Notre Dame VolleyballFest

In morning pool play action, Bell City defeated St. Vincent 25-17, 25-18.

St. Vincent then split with St. Pius, 13-25, 25-18.

Perryville also split its remaining pool play match, going 25-20, 24-26 against St. Pius.

In pool A, Notre Dame beat Jefferson 25-9, 25-11.

Ste. Genevieve had two wins, defeating Jefferson 25-17, 25-11, and Central 25-18, 25-9.

In the gold bracket, Notre Dame defeated Bell City in the semifinals 25-11, 25-22.

Perryville defeated Ste. Genevieve 25-21, 25-18 in the other gold bracket semifinal.

St. Vincent reached the semifinals of the silver bracket by defeating Jefferson.

Central lost in the other semifinal match to St. Pius.
