All the local high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jackson's Michael Houchin pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings as the Indians opened their season at home with a 4-0 victory over Kelly.

Houchin allowed three hits, struck out seven and did not issue a walk.

Jackson's Ben Maudie belted a triple for the Indians, who collected 11 hits.

Cameron Duke and Ryan Harvey each doubled for Jackson (1-0).

Ty Householder took the loss. He threw a complete game, allowing four earned runs, striking out seven and walking one.

Jacob McClain hit a double to pace Kelly (0-1).

Chaffee's Lane Henson belted two doubles in three at-bats and drove in two runs to help the Red Devils to a five-inning romp at home in their season opener.

Alec Bogenpohl picked up the win on the mound. He pitched four innings and allowed two hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Austin Copeland added a double for Chaffee (1-0), while Ryan Lohmann drove in three runs.

Jake Joplin took the loss.

Meadow Heights's Tereena Wagner belted a triple, a double and drove in six runs as the Panthers kicked off their spring season with a four-inning rout of the Tigers at home.

Paige Mills was the winning pitcher and also doubled.

Mayzie Thompson hit two doubles and had four RBIs for Meadow Heights (1-0).

Jamie Glastetter picked up the win in the circle. She pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up eight runs on five hits and nine walks. She struck out seven.

Tori Buckner added a double and two RBIs for Scott City (1-0). Lexi Hennecke also drove in two runs for the Rams.

Grace Mirly scored three goals to lead the Crusaders to a win in their season debut.

Brianna Mueller and Ali Galemmo tallied one goal and one assist apiece for Saxony Lutheran (1-0). Maddie Brune recorded one goal and two assists, and Tess Daniel added one assist for the Crusaders.

Goalkeeper Raegan Wieser grabbed four saves in the shutout.
