Notre Dame won a pair of games as the Notre Dame SoftballFest began Thursday with pool play.
The Bulldogs defeated Chaffee 10-2, then blanked Portageville 7-0.
Nikki Peters posted the victory in the first game, allowing four hits.
Liz Kight and Shelby Schaefer had doubles for the Bulldogs. Kight and Maria Layton both finished with two hits.
Alexis Burnette recorded the win in the second game. Brandi Glastetter had three hits, which included a triple. Kayce Landewee also had a triple for the Bulldogs, who improved to 5-1.
Kelly also notched a pair of wins.
The Hawks (5-0) defeated Scott City 6-3, then outscored Sikeston 5-2.
Jessica Worth went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs in the win against Scott City.
Kristi Brucker went 3 for 3, while Alexis Dock was the winner on the mound.
Samantha Ratledge connected for a home run in the first inning against Sikeston, while Brucker pitched five innings to earn the win.
In other pool play action, Scott City edged Sikeston 4-3, and Chaffee scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Portageville 6-5.
Notre Dame will play Kelly Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame.
Chaffee will take on Scott City at 9 a.m. Saturday at Kelso.

The host Bulldogs won their season opener in two games.
Sarah Lawrence had seven kills, seven digs and three blocks, while Miranda Fowler added seven kills,
Myriah Bernard had six kills and three blocks, and Taylor Ward had 20 assists.
Kelsey Lester added five kills.
Notre Dame will play today at 4:15 against Perryivlle in the Notre Dame Volleyballfest.
Oak Ridge won five out of six games in pool play.
Oak Ridge defeated Meadow Heights 25-18, 25-20, and Bell City 25-13, 25-18.
The Blue Jays split with Zalma, losing the first game 22-25, and then winning 25-24.
Bell City won three games, sweeping Zalma 25-22, 25-16, and splitting with Meadow Heights 25-15, 9-25.
Zalma and Meadow Heights also split in pool play, 25-20, 15-25.
Bracket play begins today, with Advance taking on Zalma and Saxony Lutheran versus Bell City at 4 p.m.
Leopold will play Meadow Heights and Woodland will face Oak Ridge at 5 p.m.
The semifinals will begin at 6 p.m., with the third place and championship matches to follow.

Notre Dame Soccerfest
Central defeated Marion, Ill., 2-1 in overtime in the first round of the Notre Dame SoccerFest, and the host Bulldogs won 1-0 over Perryville in penalty kicks.
Matthew Parsons, Luke Mocherman and Logan Buchheit netted PK's for the Bulldogs, while Thomas Himmelberg was in goal for the shutout with three saves in the penalty kicks.
Jackson also won, defeating Sikeston 1-0, and Poplar Bluff blanked Carbondale, Ill., 2-0.
Jackson will face Poplar Bluff in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. today, and Central will take on Notre Dame in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m.
Eagle Ridge got the shutout on the road
Aaron Margrabe netted four goals, while Michael Perez had one goal and one assist. Joshua Feredrich added an assist.
Caleb Cerney made five saves for the Eagles (1-2).
