High school roundup: Hobbs, Troxel lead Jackson swimmers past Notre Dame

Allison Hobbs and Kyleigh Troxel both won two individual events to help lead the Jackson swimming team to victory against host Notre Dame on Wednesday.

The Indians won eight of the 10 events on their way to the 112-58 win.

Kate Bohn won the 50 freestyle and Morgan Morris touched first in the 100 freestyle for Notre Dame's wins.

Nathan Michelsen poured in a game-high 18 points to lead Oran into the semifinals.

The Eagles jumped ahead by 12 points after one quarter and cruised to the 73-39 victory over host Kelly.

Jon Morrow added 14 points for Oran, which will face Scott City in today's 8:30 p.m. semifinal.

Ian Householder led the Hawks (2-9) with 17 points.

Scott County Central and Chaffee will meet in today's 7 p.m. semifinal.

The visiting Angels shot 52 percent compared to 30 percent for the Bulldogs.

Summer Burger pulled down 10 rebounds and recorded four steals, while Allyson Bradshaw finished with seven rebounds in the loss.

Kaelin Hale led Notre Dame (9-6) with 13 points.

St. Joseph's Academy, which is ranked No. 1 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's latest large school poll, hit nine 3-pointers in the game and led by 20 at the break.
