The Dexter girls tennis team won two of three doubles matches to edge Notre Dame 5-4 in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 1 tournament Tuesday.

The teams split the six singles matches with Carly Hopkins, Adele Soutar and Emily Young recording victories for the Bulldogs. Hopkins and Reagan Kapp won No. 1 doubles, but Dexter won the last two.

The match lasted nearly six hours, starting at Notre Dame and moving to the lighted Southeast Missouri State courts.

Class 2 District 1 Farmington 5, Central 2

Josey Powell and Ashley Westbrook provided singles wins for Central, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers fell to host Farmington in district team play.

Doubles: 3 – McPhail/Hartwig (F) def. P. Messerli/Limbaugh 6-1, 6-2.

Softball

Chaffee 12, East Prairie 6

Hannah Seyer had four hits, three RBIs and pitched three scoreless innings in Chaffee's road victory.

Julia Sutterfield added three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Dakota Pepple, who had two hits, also had a double.

BOYS SOCCER

Central 3, Saxony Lutheran 1

Central junior Ferdinand Busch scored two second-half goals to helps lift the visiting Tigers to victory.

Sophomore Dashaun Blissett also added a goal in the second half.

Ryan Palmer netted a penalty kick for the Crusaders (3-11) to close the scoring.

Eagle Ridge 3, Thomas Jefferson 0

Eagle Ridge capped off the regular season with a win at home.

Josh King contributed two goals, while Jordan Cliff scored one. Mike Perez assisted on all three of the goals.

Volleyball

Leopold 25-25 Greenville 12-20

Caitlin Petty had six kills, three blocks and two service aces in helping the Wildcats to their 20th win of the season.

Denai Arnzen and Bailee Cope both added four kills. Cope also had three blocks. Sydney Eeftink dished out 14 assists and had a team-high five digs for Leopold (20-4).

* JV: Leopold won 2-0.

Advance 25-25 Bloomfield 22-20

Grayson Miles recorded four kills as Advance won in two games on the road.

Allie Below recorded 13 assists for the Hornets (10-11-2).

* JV: Bloomfield won 25-18, 25-17

Perryville 19-25-25 Carbondale 25-15-17

Perryville dropped the first game to visiting Carbondale, but the Pirates rallied to improve to 23-4.

Kaylie Hadler had five kills and three digs for Perryville, while Brooke Moll had two kills, six digs and two aces. Kayla Buxton added three aces.

* JV: Carbondale won 23-25, 16-25

McCracken County (Ky.) 25-25, Jackson 21-14

The Indians lost at home in two games.

Hailey Mouser paced Jackson with six kills, while McKenzie Scott had eight assists.
