All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

Junior Machela VanGennip scored her 1,000th career point in Delta's 56-52 home victory against Charleston in girls basketball Thursday.

VanGennip netted 22 points, while Tori Burton led the Bobcats (5-2) with 24 points.

Macey Parks dished out seven assists in the win, while Chastity Taylor drew three charges.

Alayah Cooper-Johnson scored 12 points and had six rebounds in the win, while Bailey Kratochvil had 12 points and four steals.

Chelsea Vinson had six rebounds for the Tigers (4-3).
