High school roundup: Delta softball team doubles up Saxony Lutheran

Tori Burton and Lyndse Hamby both tripled to help lead the Delta softball team past Saxony Lutheran on Friday.

Courtney Beggs and Ciara Coomer both added a double, while Macey Park went 2 for 3 with three stolen bases in the Bobcats' 6-3 win.

Coomer picked up her first win in the circle for the Bobcats (5-13).

Natalie Schlimpert doubled for the Crusaders.

Ashley Steck struck out six and walked five over 4 2/3 innings in a losing effort for Saxony Lutheran.

Chelsea Willett had two doubles, while Bailey Kratochvil and Lexi Smith both added two hits in the win.

The Bulldogs enjoyed a 1-0 halftime lead at the Gateway Classic thanks to a goal from Jonathan Lynch.

Logan Buchheit and Aaron Arnzen scored in the second half.

Lynch, Matt Parsons and Philip Schuchardt all had one assist in the game.

James Holloway earned the shutout in goal.

Courtney Bergman recorded six kills to go with nine digs in the Crusaders' loss.

Lauren Hecht added nine digs, while Kirsti Pohlman had eight assists.
