The Delta boys basketball team finally had reason to celebrate Friday night.

Delta notched its first win of the season, beating visiting Zalma 59-52. The Bobcats improved to 1-10.

Tanner Schabbing paced the Bobcats with 24. Dwight Nance and Dillon Lincoln added 13 points apiece for Delta.

Bradley Key scored 20 points to lead Zalma (2-5). Austin Sitze scored 12 points, all from the 3-point line.

Delta led 18-10 after one quarter but fell behind 29-27 by halftime. The Bobcats surged back ahead 45-38 entering the final period and held off Zalma down the stretch.
