It took three extra innings but visiting St. Pius X rallied and posted five runs in the top of the 10th inning to defeat Saxony Lutheran 10-6 on Thursday in high school baseball action.

Dan Brewer was the winning pitcher for St. Pius X (8-3).

Chase Steffens took the loss on the mound. He gave up five earned runs on 13 hits with five strikeouts and eight walks.

Steffens, who went 4 for 5, had two doubles in the Crusaders' nine-hit attack. Conrad Bonney added two hits, while Luke LeGrand had a double for Saxony Lutheran (6-6).

Brendan Welker threw a five-inning no-hitter to provide the host Panthers with their first win of the season.

Welker struck out 11, walked six and did not allow an earned run.

Welker also had two hits, including a double. Jordan Yamnitz collected three hits, while Spencer Bragg, Nick Mayfield, Justin McGuire and Brendan Welker all had two hits. Mayfield had a triple, while Yamnitz had a double for the Panthers (1-12).

Zach Carlyle had three hits, including a double, as the Rams picked up a conference road win.

Freshman Braden Cox threw a complete-game two-hitter for the Rams (5-10). The only run he allowed was unearned. He struck out five and walked one.

Mack Marcum took the loss for East Prairie (2-8).

Paige McNeely blasted a triple to lead the host Rams in the three-inning blowout of the Hornets.

Lyndsie Robert picked up her first win in the circle, allowing one hit. She struck out five and walked two.

Hailey Clayton, Jamie Glastetter and Macy Hall all had two hits for Scott City. Bella Bowers and Hall each had a double for the Rams (12-5).

Scott City wraps up the regular season today at home against East Prairie in its senior day.

Bernie's Tori Lowrey and Lari Jean Spitzer each had a triple as the Mules dealt some revenge to the Cardinals on their home field.

Blakely Bradshaw was the winning pitcher and also doubled. She threw six innings and allowed four earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Madi Corbin, Jordan Ellenburg and Addie Shelton each hit a double for Bernie (9-7).

Josie Long went 3 for 4 at the plate to pace Woodland (10-6), while Shelby Sawyer added two hits.

The Cardinals edged Bernie 9-8 in a semifinal of the Stoddard County Activities Association (SCAA) Conference Tournament on Monday.

Morgan Politte smacked a home run and added a triple and a double as the Panthers earned their first win of the season at home over the Bravettes.

Paige Mills was the winning pitcher. She recorded two strikeouts in the circle for Meadow Heights (1-10). Mills also had a triple and two doubles, while Kelsey Reed and Tereena Wagner both added two hits.

Katelyn Lovel took the loss for Scott County Central.
