All the local high school events reported Wednesday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team opened its season Wednesday with a 69-59 victory over Herculaneum in pool play at the Crystal City Tournament.

Jack Lake paced the Crusaders with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Palmer and Hunter Coe both finished with 11 points and Zach Beal had 10.

Coe and Lake both finished with four assists, while Elwood Voss had seven assists.

Saxony extended a 39-36 lead to 12 points by the close of the third quarter.

The Crusaders return to tournament action at 6 p.m. today when they face Jefferson.

Potosi 47, Meadow Heights 16

Meadow Heights was held to singe-digit scoring in every quarter as the Panthers fell to No. 6 seed Potosi in a consolation semifinal at the Potosi Tournament.

Kiana Hotop led the No. 7 Panthers (0-3) with 10 points.

Meadow Heights will face Fredericktown at 5 p.m. Friday for seventh place.
