Woodland freshman Krista Rhodes netted a game-high 22 points, but it was not enough as the Cardinals dropped their season opener 68-66 to host Charleston.

Charleston led 37-26 at halftime before the Cardinals outscored them by nine points in the second half of the game.

The teams combined for 54 fouls.

Junior Whitney Lincoln added 11 points for Woodland (0-1).

Senior Juwanna Walker put up a team-high 17 points for Charleston (1-0), while freshman Connor Watkins netted 15 points for the Blue Jays.

Junior Tatum May tossed in 15 points for Oran (1-0), while senior Allie Cummins and junior Ashlyn McIntosh each had 10 rebounds. Cummins also seven steals .

Freshmen Hailey Kesler and Johneisa Davis had five points apiece to pace the Bravettes (0-1).

The Class 4 powerhouse Raiders were too much for the host Panthers as Meadow Heights lost for the second straight night.

Sophomore Holly Forbes and junior Emily Eaton put up a game-high 17 points each for North County (1-0). Seniors Kourtney Kekec and Marianna Falls added 11 points apiece for the Raiders.

Senior Emma Cook tallied nine points to pace the Panthers (0-2).
