The Chaffee boys track team won two events in winning the 12-team Riverbend Invitational on Thursday in New Madrid, Mo.
Jordan Yahn won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 7.7 seconds, while Pete Simpson won the 3,200 in 11:02.62. Simpson also finished second in the 1,600.
Jeremy Engelhart of Saxony Lutheran won the 110 hurdles (16.46), while teammate Brandon Fritsche won the 400 (52.61).
Chaffee finished with 88 points to nip Caruthersville by three points.
Chaffee (78) placed a distant second to Dexter (140) in the girls meet. Saxony Lutheran placed sixth (52) but had three champions. Nicole Hemmann won the 110 hurdles (16.97) and 300 hurdles (50.22), while the 1,600 relay team of Rachael Gruenwald, Dakota Werner, Ale Wahler and Allyson Bach finished first (4:38.52).
