All the local high school events reported Saturday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Chaffee baseball team picked up two victories over visiting Bell City in a doubleheader Saturday.

Cody Johnson hit a double to lead the Red Devils to a 9-0 win in the first game. Jared Walker was the winning pitcher.

Layton Tenkhoff and Jimmy Golden both had a double in Chaffee's 12-1 win in the second game. Lane Henson got the won on the mound.

Jerad Yates and Nate Finney took the losses for the Cubs (1-3).

Chase Simmons belted a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning in the second game to keep the Bulldogs undefeated.

Notre Dame improved to 5-0 with the victory.

Justin Landewee was the winning pitcher. He threw the last three innings and gave up three hits, one walk and struck out four.

David Nogalski hit a double to pace the Rebels.

Jackson scored two runs in the fifth inning and trimmed host Sikeston.

Trenton Wills had two of Jackson's four hits, including a double.

Steven Eddy notched the win on the mound, allowing five hits. He struck out three and walked two. Ryan O'Rear pitched a hitless seventh for the save.

Karson King and Blake Reynolds combined on a one-hitter as Indians improved to 4-1 with their second win of the day in Sikeston, Mo.

King allowed one hit, struck out four and walked one Royal batter in six innings. Reynolds struck out one and walked one in the final inning.

Laban Petzoldt and Jordan Hadden both had two hits for the Indians, who had nine hits overall.

TRACK & FIELD

Bulldogs Relays

Records were shattered as the host Notre Dame track and field teams were victorious in Saturday's 12-team Bulldogs Relays.

Senior standout Myriah Bernard, who has signed a letter of intent to run track at William Jewell College in suburban Kansas City, Mo., broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet and 11 3/4 inches. The Bulldogs' Ali Norder, Adilyn Mueller, Madison Little and Breanna Conklin set a new record in the distance medley with a time of 13 minutes, 56.41 seconds to help Notre Dame earn the overall gold in the meet. The Notre Dame girls finished first in the sprint division with a 43 points and first in the distance division with 44, and placed third (41) in the field division behind Jackson (52) and Valle Catholic (47).

The Bulldogs also won the overall boys title with a score of 125. The Notre Dame boys finished first in the distance and field divisions with scores of 48 and 51 points, respectively, and placed third place (26) in the sprint division behind Charleston (44) and Poplar Bluff (36).

Missouri Relays

Jackson's Brannon Wright and Paden Wachter took first place in two events to lead the way for the Indians in Saturday's Missouri Relays at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Wachter clinched the gold for the Indians in the discus, which she threw 134 feet and 1 inch. The senior set a new meet record in the shot put event with a throw of 43 feet and 11/2 inches.

Wright won first place in the 200 and 400 sprints with times of 22.15 and 51.31 seconds, respectively.
