The Central softball team scored six runs in the third inning on its way to a 13-3, five-inning home victory over Chaffee on Thursday.
Kadie Orenstein recorded the win in relief, pitching three innings and allowing two runs on four hits while striking out five without walking a batter. Maggie Groshong pitched the first two innings, allowing four hits and three runs.
Maddie Daum had three of the Tigers' 14 hits.
Kaitlyn McFerron took the loss for Chaffee.

The visiting Bulldogs survived the Hawks' three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to squeak out a win.
Nikki Peters allowed six hits in gaining the win for Notre Dame (17-4). Jessica Westrich had three hits and Christina Scherer added two hits for the Bulldogs.
Alexis Dock took the lost for Kelly.

Jackson's seventh-inning rally fell short as the host Indians (8-13) dropped a close contest to Festus (18-2).

Saxony Lutheran's seventh-inning rally fell a run short as the visiting Indians held off the Crusaders.
Brooke Monier was 5 for 5 with a triple for the Indians to back the pitching of Isabel Hotop, who went the distance in the circle for the win.
Ashley Steck and Logan Welker each had two hits for the Crusaders (13-6). Grace Mirly led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run for Saxony.

Sydney Eeftink had five kills, 13 assists and two aces as the host Wildcats swept the Eagles.
Kaitlyn Petty added five kills, seven digs, four blocks, four assists and two aces for Leopold.
Brooke Hogard had six kills as the Pirates topped the host Crusaders.
Brooke Moll totalled five digs and Daria Thompson four for the Pirates (15-4).
Courtney Bergman led the Crusaders with eight kills. Brianna Mueller had nine assists and eight digs, while Kirsti Pohlman added nine assists.

Visiting Bell City dropped the first set, then rattled off three straight wins to win a best 3-of-5 match.
Rachel Poole had a good all-around game for the Eagles, posting five digs, five kills, four assists and two blocks in a home sweep.
Josie Long had three kills and 13 digs, while Lexie King added five kills. Vanessa Wiseman posted 10 assists and three services aces, while Chelsea Cureton notched 18 digs.

Maddie Kennedy had 10 kills and Ashtyn Hudson eight, but the host Hornets fell in a three-set thriller.
Allie Below and Grayson Miles had nine blocks each for Advance (8-11-2), with Below adding 22 assists. Kimsy Lillard and Hannah Clark totalled eight digs each.

Autumn Reid led Jackson (5-10-3) with three kills, while McKinzie Scott had seven digs and four assists.
