All the area high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

Christian Cavaness hit a home run to help power Central past host Sikeston 6-3 in baseball action Friday.

Josh Compas collected two doubles and went 2 for 4 as the Tigers (6-3) won their first SEMO Conference game.

Josh Hiett went 3 for 4 and Jamie Pickel had two hits for the Tigers. Josh Meyer was the winning pitcher.

Central struck for four runs in the seventh inning to overcome a one-run deficit.

The Red Devils used a 15-run second inning to make quick work of the host Rebels.

Winning pitcher Andrew Dooley struck out five in two innings of work. He also went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and homer.

Jared Walker went 2 for 2 with a double for Chaffee (3-5).

Mitchell Lukefahr had a double for the Pirates.

Brianne Sanders scored all four goals in the second half to help the Bulldogs post the home shutout.

Meghan Dohogne and Anna Wren contributed two assists apiece.

Lindsey Strieker made two saves in the first half and Anne Himmelberg followed with three saves in the second as Notre Dame improved to 3-3.

Ashley Keim went 3 for 3 and pitched all five innings for her fourth victory.

Emily Elfrink went 4 for 4 with a double, while McKenzie Beel also went 4 for 4 for the Wildcats.
