Central's Al Young had a game-high 20 points to lead the second-seeded Tigers' boys basketball team to a win over third-seeded Sikeston in a SEMO Conference Tournament consolation semifinal on Wednesday at Sikeston High School.

Andre Statam added 18 points in the win, while Peyton Montgomery scored 10 and netted the 1,000th point of his high school career in the process.

Fred Thatch scored 18 points for Sikeston in the loss.

Central (5-1) will play Notre Dame for the consolation championship Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs bounced back from a loss in the opening round of the SEMO Conference Tournament to defeat the Indians in a consolation semifinal on Wednesday.

Quinn Poythress led the Bulldogs with a team-high 18 points, while Dean Crippen netted 14 points.

Poythress grabbed nine rebounds, and Thomas Himmelberg added seven.
