High school roundup: Central boys close out their regular season with a win

The Central boys basketball team closed out its regular-season schedule with a 57-39 victory at Dexter on Friday night.

Senior Jamal Cox led the Tigers with a game-high 31 points while Al Young added 16.

The Dragons made 14 3-pointers to wrap up the regular season with a conference win on the road over the Pirates.

Brendan Dallas scored a game-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers, for Ste. Genevieve (14-12), while Matt Drury added 14 points and Drew Schmelzle tossed in 10 points.

Colin Schirmer notched a team-high 19 points and snagged 17 rebounds for Perryville, which ended its regular season with a record of 13-12. Grant Dix added 14 points for the Pirates, which recorded a total of 22 assists as a team. Garrett Martin dished out seven of these assists and Trenton Green had six assists.
