The Bell City baseball team won back-to-back games Saturday in Marion, Illinois.

The Cubs defeated Kelly 12-5 in the first game and knocked off Scott City 5-2 in the second game.

Bobby Wright and Nolan Schaefer each had three RBIs to lead Bell City at the plate against Kelly.

Kyle Fitzgerald had a home run to pace Kelly.

Wright picked up the win on the mound, while Levi Alsup took the loss.

The Cubs erased a one-run deficit by scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning to come away with the win over the Rams.

Austin Hicks and Nate Finney each finished 3 for 4 to lead Bell City, which improved to 6-0 on the season.

Hicks earned the win on the mound, while Dakota Talley picked up the loss for Scott City.

Trent Pobst hit a grand slam in the seventh inning on Saturday to lift the Rams to a victory over the Hawks.

The Rams erased a 6-0 Hawks lead with four runs in the fourth and two in the fifth. Both teams plated three in the sixth to tie it at 9-all before Pobst's homer.

Drew Short went 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for Scott City. Levi Alsup and Kyle Fitzgerald each doubled to pace the Hawks, who had 10 hits in the loss.

Braden Cox secured the win on the mound. He allowed two earned runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work. He struck out five batters and walked one.

Jackson wins two at Midwest Classic

The Indians picked up a pair of 10-run wins on Saturday in the Midwest Classic hosted by Francis Howell.

Jackson defeated Westminster, Illinois 10-0 and Farmington 13-3 to improve to 7-3 on the season.

Ryan Harvey, Jarett Newell and Josh Barber each had two RBIs apiece in Jackson's win over Westminster.

Starter Tyler Slinkard got the win on the mound, allowing three hits in four scoreless innings of work. He struck out one and walked one.

The Indians trailed the Knights 3-2 going into the bottom of the fifth in their second game of the day before scoring 11 runs to come from behind for the win.

Jon Schumer, who had a pair of doubles, and Ben Maudie were both 3 for 4. Newell drove in three runs in the game.

Michael Houchin got the win on the mound, giving up one hit in 2/3 of a scoreless inning of relief.

Seven innings of baseball wasn't enough for the Tigers and Downers Grove South, Illinois, on Saturday.

Downers Grove broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth to claim a victory over the Tigers.

Hayden Lynn provided most of the Tigers' offense, going 2 for 3 at the plate as Central mustered only three hits in the loss.

Josh Morse took the loss on the mound. He allowed just two runs, one earned, on six hits as he pitched all eight innings. He walked one batter and recorded five strikeouts.

The Tigers dropped to 3-6 on the season.
