Nate Finney hit a double and drove in two runs to lead the Bell City baseball team to an 8-5 win over host Gideon (7-7) on Wednesday.

Peyton Maddox was the winning pitcher and also batted in two runs for Bell City (17-2). He pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up five runs (two earned) on eight hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Courtney Brown netted two goals and had an assist as the Indians wrapped up Jefferson County Conference play.

Lauren Carron and Abby Buchheit each had one goal and one assist for St. Vincent (11-9, 4-2). Emily Welker and Sarah Gremaud scored one goal apiece while Corin Carroll and Sara Geile each dished out an assist for the Indians.

Goalkeeper Brett Schario had two saves and Carroll had one save.

Central 2, Fredericktown 0

The Tigers improved to 6-11 with a win on the road while the Black Cats fell to 1-16.
