St. Vincent held off Chaffee's rally attempt to advance to the semifinals of the Delta New Year's girls basketball tournament Tuesday.
Courtney Heberlie poured in 18 points to lead the Indians past the Red Devils 44-39.
Kali Wingerter added eight points in the win.
Anna Ayers paced Chaffee with 22 points.
The Indians will face Oran in today's 7 p.m. game. The Eagles knocked off Valle Catholic 64-31. Cheyanne King led Oran with 16 points, while Abbey Anderson and Haley Glastetter added 13 apiece.
The other semifinal will pit host Delta against Meadow Heights. The Bobcats defeated Woodland 53-38 behind 14 points from senior guard Taylor Smith. Samantha Bartels added 13 points for Delta (5-3).
The Panthers earned a trip to the semifinals behind 16 points from Heather Dietiker as they downed Saxony Lutheran 67-36. Hattie Cook and Gina Cureton scored 11 points apiece, while Jillian Mills chipped in 10 for the victors.
Julia Steffens led the Crusaders with 10 points.
