CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Kelly Lady Hawks blew out the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs 52-32 to capture the Chaffee Tournament championship on Saturday.
Kelly (6-0) led throughout the contest, but held only a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Hawks picked it up in the second and third periods, outscoring Sikeston 28-7 en route to the easy win.
Bridgett Riley paced Kelly with 19 points, while Marissa Essner added 15.
In a squeaker, Scott City (3-2) came from a 17-15 halftime deficit to defeat Chaffee 56-54 for third place.
"We picked it up in the second half," said assistant coach Gary Poyner. "We went to the boards well and got good play from our bench."
With the win, the Lady Rams avenged an earlier 13-point loss to Chaffee (2-3).
Loren Groves and Rachel Spinks led Scott City with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
Jennifer Vandeven and Morgan Kiefer paced Chaffee with 17 points apiece.
The Delta Lady Bobcats got by Oran 44-34 to take fifth-place.
Delta outscored Oran 24-14 in the second half to gain their final 10-point advantage. The score was tied at 20 at the intermission.
Rebecca Below led the Lady Bobcats with 17 points, while Rebecca Cook had 11 of her 13 points in the second half.
Ashley Dirnberger led the Lady Eagles with 13.
JACKSON 67, COR JESU 61
ST. LOUIS -- The Lady Indians parlayed a strong fourth quarter into a come-from-behind victory over Cor Jesu.
Trailing 44-42 at the end of the third quarter, Jackson (3-0) controlled the boards in the final frame to rally to the victory.
"We did a good job, defensively, in the fourth quarter to limit them to one shot on most possessions," said Cook. "We played well at the end."
The Lady Indians didn't fare well at the charity stripe, however, going to the line 43 times, hitting only 24. Cor Jesu had only 11 chances, knocking down seven.
Jackson had four players in double figures led by Alisha Burns with 21, Andrea Koeper with 17, Jenna Leet with 14 and Whitney Werner with 10.

HILLSBORO, Mo. -- Eagle Ridge boys and girls dropped two games each in the tournament featuring larger St. Louis schools.
On the girls side, Eagle Ridge lost to North County Christian 36-21 and Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis 33-17.
Amber Karnes led the Lady Eagles scoring in both games.
The Eagle Ridge boys lost to Collinsville Christian Academy 61-58.
Toby Shreve, Mike Probst and Andrew Mellies led the Eagles with 14 apiece.
Gateway Christian School defeated Eagle Ridge 41-33.
Shreve paced the Eagles with 21 points.

Jefferson City Duals
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Jackson put on a strong performance in the quality 10-team Jefferson City Duals meet.
In the two-pool format -- Gold and Blue -- the Indians competed in the Gold.
"This was an outstanding tournament," said Jackson coach Steve Wachter. "We did very well in the toughest pool."
The Indians were 5-0 in their matches, as was Gold champion Francis Howell, but finished second based on total team points.
Jackson's team total was 218, Francis Howell had 232. Other scores were Raymore Peculiar (208), Blue Springs (201) and Raytown South (171).
Match scores were as follows: Jackson defeated McCluer North 45-20, Jefferson City Public 44-18, Oakville 50-10, Columbia Hickman 48-18 and Jefferson City Helias 31-30.
Jackson's individual champions were Brock Howard (103 lb., 4-1 record), Brett Stroud (125, 4-1), Mark Wade (171, 4-1), Seth Harrell (189, 2-3) and Ray Goodson (215, 5-0).
Also competing well but falling short of winning their weight-classes was Ben Wachter (112, 4-1), Mike Wright (119, 4-1) and Ricky Feiner (130, 5-0).
Helias took the Blue championship with 175 points over McCluer North (148), Jefferson City Public (141), Columbia Hickman (127) and Oakville (107).
