CARUTHERSVILLE - The Malden Green Wave football team took a beating Friday night when home team Caruthersville's running game proved unstoppable.

The Tigers rolled up the score to 53-6 at the half thanks to Caruthersville speedster running back Sammy Bryant and Quarterback Ryan Guest’s cool head under pressure.

The game was delayed an hour because of extreme heat and players were grounded a number of times from leg cramps.

Two Malden players were sent to an area hospital because of heat exhaustion just after the half.

First-half highlights included an 88-yard return for a touchdown by the Tigers Abeyon Motton and a Motton interception.

Quamareous Farmer connectred with Xavier Harris for Malden's lone score of the contest.

The game ended as a result of second half Turbo Clock with Tigers over the Green Wave 60-6.
