DONIPHAN – It took some time for the Kennett Indians to find their footing but once they did, they cruised to their second win of the season when they went to
Doniphan and took care of business against the Dons 42-0.
The game was scoreless after the first quarter with both teams having trouble holding onto the football during the first 12 minutes of the game.
It wasn’t until midway through the second quarter that the Indians found the end zone for the first time and went up 6-0.
Kennett poured it on in the final 7:37 of the first half as the Indians put up 28 points in the blink of an eye.
The Indians added two more scores in the second half to end the game early with a running clock for most of the final two quarters.
Senior Marquiese Pittman did it all for the Indians as he scored three touchdowns in the victory, including a 29-yard pass from DJ Jones.
Kennett is on the road again next week as they take on Sikeston at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs are coming off of a loss to Dexter. Kennett beat Sikeston 52-7 in last season’s matchup.
The Kennett Indians are now 2-0 for the fifth straight season as they attempt to break the school record for most consecutive winning seasons.
