Chaffee (5-4) at Portageville (0-8)
Last year's meeting: Chaffee 39, Portageville 0.
Notes: The Red Devils hung with Hayti for two quarters last week before finally wearing down in the second half. They are on the brink of their first six-win season since 1989. The Red Devils rode their defense to a victory in the first week of district. Chaffee's rushing attack, led by Dylan McAlister and Jerrod Steger, should find plenty of holes.
Sikeston (2-7) at Central (1-8)
Last year's meeting: Sikeston 24, Central 14.
Notes: Sikeston enters with a seven-game losing streak and Central features a five-game skid of its own. The Tigers allowed Zizzers running back Tommy Meyer to rush for four scores last week. Central tried to keep up with West Plains, closing within a point late in the first half. Cantrell Andrews led Central with three touchdowns. It's been Central's defense that has struggled to stop opponents this season. The Tigers will need a good effort on the defensive side to pull out their season finale.
St. Vincent (4-5) at Hayti (9-0)
Last year's meeting: St. Vincent 24, Hayti 13.
Notes: Can St. Vincent find a way to knock off Hayti in districts again? That's the big question as the two teams play for the district title. St. Vincent must win by at least nine points to repeat as district champs. Hayti features a high-powered offensive attack that can put points up in a hurry. The St. Vincent defense must find a way to contain running back Jerome Covington and quarterback Shaun Jones.
Scott City (5-4) at St. Pius (1-8)
Last year's meeting: Scott City 36, St. Pius 9.
Notes: The Rams lost their chance for a district title last week with their loss to Crystal City. But they feature a balanced offensive attack that should gain yards against St. Pius. Cody Carlyle leads the rushing attack, with Chris Blankenship and Trey Schlosser earning carries as well. It's been the Rams' defense that has played well in the victories. The defense has held opponents to just over 17 points per game.
