FRIDAY

Central (0-2) at Blytheville, Ark. (2-0), 7:30 p.m.

Last week: St. Charles West 42, Central 7; Blytheville 31, Poplar Bluff 10

Last year's meeting: Central 28, Blytheville 3

Notes: After two weeks of struggling against run-oriented teams, the Tigers will try their luck against a pass-first squad. Central's task will not be any easier this week, with Blytheville's quarterback Brice Beck considered one of the best in Arkansas. Beck has completed 25-of-38 passes for 332 yards.

Scott City (2-0) at

East Prairie (0-2), 7 p.m.

Last week: Scott City 14, Portageville 7; Mountain View Liberty 34, East Prairie 13

Last year's meeting: East Prairie 34, Scott City 7

Notes: East Prairie ended a 19-game losing streak at Scott City last season, but the Rams have nearly equaled last year's win total after nipping Portageville last week. Rams running back Matt Schaefer has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of the Rams' first two games and will try to lead the Rams to their first 3-0 start since 2000, when they went 7-3.

St. Vincent (2-0) at Potosi (2-0), 7 p.m.

Last week: St. Vincent 10, Park Hills Central 0; Potosi 42, Pacific 6

Last year's meeting: St. Vincent 34, Potosi 0

Notes: St. Vincent has reversed last year's 0-2 start by avenging losses to Priory and Park Hills Central while going without top running back Kyle Kline. With Tyler Lozier, Anthony Brown and Waylon Richardet picking up the rushing chores, the Indians should continue their success against a team they handled last season.

Chaffee (0-2) at Crystal City (1-1), 7 p.m.

Last week: Corning 36, Chaffee 0; Chester, Ill., 32, Crystal City 20

Last year's meeting: Crystal City 41, Chaffee 0

Notes: Chaffee will try to keep things close after being shut out for the second straight week. The Red Devils have been outscored by Crystal City 64-0 over the past two seasons.

Jackson (2-0) at Vianney (1-1), 7 p.m.

Last week: Jackson 42, Roosevelt 3; Chaminade 21, Vianney 19

Last year's game: did not play

Notes: Jackson has allowed just 11 points in two games but will get its stiffest challenge yet with a Vianney offense that can run (Dominic Vitale, 234 yards) and throw (Steve Callanan, 285 yards). The Indians have been successful on the ground offensively, led by Jason Meystedt (204 yards, four touchdowns) and Austin Bock (153 yards, three touchdowns).
