ALTON — Three Senath-Hornersville High School cross country runners earned medals at the Alton Invitational from Wednesday at Tucker Creek Park.

Last year’s state qualifier, Ricardo Gonzalez was 14th overall in time of 19:28.8 while teammate Gerardo Castillo was next in 15th (19:35.30).

Todd Green also earned a medal for Senath-Hornersville, taking 23rd in 19:52.6.

Other finishers were Adyn Goff in 42nd, Jacob Chapman 53rd, Braden Roy 59th, Logan Beard 60th, Alejandro Soto 62nd, Mason Williams 65th, Grant Burr 72nd, Angel Ledezma 73rd, Luke Rushing 81st and Adam Motes 82nd.

Halle Jamerson was the top female finisher for Senath-Hornersville in 23rd (26:19.9).

Other finishers were Chloe Edmonston in 27th, Lily Chandler 30th, Tanya Martinez 31st, Hayley Barksdale 40th, Ava Bollinger 42nd, Jena Dogan 43rd, Ailani Arenas 45th and Gabriela Sierra 46th.

In the team standings, Senath-Hornersville’s boys and girls placed fifth in their respective genders.

GIRLS TENNIS

Kennett wins two more

The Kennett High School girls tennis team bumped its winning streak to 53 matches with a pair of 9-0 victories over Caruthersville on Wednesday and Sikeston Thursday.

The Indians play host to their own four-school individual singles and doubles tournament on Saturday at The Wheatley Courts.
