CARDWELL — The Tri-County Conference has released its all-conference fall baseball team for the 2023 season.
Cooter defeated Risco, 3-2, in the Tri-County tournament championship on Sept. 27, a well-played game from both teams.
The league received a boost this season with the addition of Delta C-7 (Deering). Southland, Holcomb and Gideon also played in the postseason tournament.
Longtime Cooter skipper David Mathis was named the conference’s coach of the year, guiding the Wildcats to an 11-8 record with a young team.
Risco finished 12-12, with other records as follows: Gideon (5-6), Holcomb (6-14), Southland (1-8) and Delta C-7 (1-8).
The Rebels and Chargers earned wins against each other during the regular season.
Talented Cooter senior pitcher/infielder Talan King was named the conference player of the year, and also was a first-team all-conference selection.
The Tri-County Conference also will release a spring team when that season has been completed.
