High school baseball: Bernie Tournament wraps up local season

BERNIE — The Bernie Fall Baseball Tournament, with an eight-team, single-elimination format, begins today with four games.

Here's the slate:

Noon, No. 1 Bernie vs. No. 8 Bernie JV, high school field

Noon, No. 2 Senath-Hornersville vs. No. 7 South Pemiscot, junior high field

2 p.m., No. 4 Risco vs. No. 5 Bloomfield, high school field

2 p.m., No. 3 Campbell vs. No. 6 Holcomb, junior high field

The semifinals will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 while the championship and third-place games are set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3.

This event will mark the official end for the fall baseball season in The Bootheel.
