The Heartland Nationals 12-and-under softball team earned its first win at the Babe Ruth League World Series in Wilson, N.C., on Sunday.

The Nationals defeated Wilson County, N.C., 6-1. They scored three runs in the first inning and played errorless defense the entire game.

Ashton Elfrink allowed one hit over four innings to pick up the win.

Brandi Glastetter and Summer Burger both had two hits for Heartland. Elfrink scored two runs and knocked in a pair.

Adrienne Eichhorn, Kacie Gaines, Glastetter and Hali Rendleman each drove in a run for the winners.
