Southeast Missouri State football has received more national attention from a high-profile publication.
Senior running back Henry Harris is among the Faces in the Crowd in Sports Illustrated's Nov. 22 issue that hit newsstands Thursday. Southeast's remarkable turnaround season recently was featured in an article in USA Today.
Faces in the Crowd, which appears weekly in Sports Illustrated, briefly highlights individual accomplishments by athletes across the nation.
Harris, among six athletes featured on the Faces in the Crowd page of the current Sports Illustrated, has broken several Southeast records this year.
Harris has rushed for more than 100 yards in nine of 11 contests, with a Football Championship Subdivision single-game high of 293 yards against Southwest Baptist on Nov. 6. Harris leads the nation in all-purpose yardage (219.8 per game), ranks second in rushing (147.9 yards per game) and fourth in scoring (9.82 points per game).
Harris has rushed for a school-record 1,627 yards. He also has a school-record 17 rushing touchdowns and a school-record 18 touchdowns.
The 10th-ranked Redhawks, who finished the regular season 9-2 overall and 7-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play, will learn their postseason fate Sunday when the FCS playoff field and pairings are announced at 9 a.m. on ESPNU.
The public is invited to join the Redhawks to watch the FCS selection show at Outback Steakhouse in Cape Girardeau. Doors open at 8:40 a.m. There is no admission charge but a breakfast buffet and beverages will be available for $10.
