Hannibal handed the Cape Babe Ruth Yankees their first loss of the season Saturday, defeating the local squad 13-9 at Cape Central High School.

Hannibal, which trailed 9-3 after four innings, scored 10 unanswered runs.

Ryan Hudson pitched two innings and suffered the loss for the Yankees (2-1). Hudson allowed two hits, walked three and struck out two. He followed Lance Limbaugh, who allowed 15 hits in seven innings.

James Powell had two home runs and four RBIs for the Yankees. Jeremy Greenley and Hudson both added a pair of hits while Ryan Livingston finished with a double and three RBIs.

With the score tied 9-9, Hannibal scored four runs in the top of the ninth.

Cape Riverdogs 4, St. Louis Sox 9

The Cape Girardeau Riverdogs scored eight runs in the eight inning to overcome a 4-3 deficit and held on to defeat the St. Louis Sox 11-9 Friday night.

Brandon Talbot led the way for the Riverdogs (1-1) with two hits and four RBIs. John Carenza, who had two hits, and Shane Gibson both added three RBIs.

The Sox (6-3) charged back with a run in the bottom of the eighth and four in the ninth, but fell short.
