Mike Goodes, who turned pro two years ago, shot a 66 Sunday to win his first career Champions Tour title at the Allianz Championships.
The 52-year-old Goodes finished in 15-under 201 at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Fla., beating practice partner Fulton Allem by one stroke to pocket $255,000 in his 32nd career event.
"In any dreams I had of this, I feel better than I thought I would," said Goodes, who played top amateur golf while growing the plastics recycling business he co-owns before joining the Champions Tour in 2007.
Bernhard Langer, the 2008 Champions Tour leader and Rookie of the Year, struggled with his putting throughout to finish third with a 12-under 204.
Goodes, whose best previous Champions Tour finish was second at the 2008 Jeld-Wen Tradition, was thrilled to beat a 79-man field that combined for victories at 100 majors on the PGA and Champions Tour.
"You look at the field -- Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer, Masters winner, Open winner, British Open winner -- they're everywhere out here and it's pretty cool," Goodes said. "I get to eat lunch with them, breakfast sometimes, and play with them. I like it.
"These guys have accomplished things I don't even dream about, but I enjoy playing with them now."
PGA Tour
Raging wind that toppled a 40-foot pine and rain that formed puddles on the green forced the PGA Tour to postpone the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in Pebble Beach, Calif., giving it a Monday finish for the first time since 2000.
Tee times were pushed back six hours Sunday until another band of rain arrived on the Monterey Peninsula.
No one teed off, and there is no guarantee the final round will be played today, when the forecast is for more rain and wind.
Dustin Johnson had a four-shot lead as he tries to join Anthony Kim as the only players under 25 with multiple PGA Tour victories.
LPGA Tour
Angela Stanford spoiled Michelle Wie's bid for a victory in her first start as an LPGA Tour member, overcoming a three-stroke deficit to win the season-opening SBS Open by three shots on Saturday in Kahuku, Hawaii.
Stanford closed with a 2-under 70 for a 10-under 206 total at wind-swept Turtle Bay, giving the Texan her fourth career win and third in seven starts. Wie had a disappointing 73 for her second straight runner-up finish in the tournament.
