COLUMBIA -- Cape Girardeau Central High sophomore Grace Freeman swam to all-state status Saturday at the Missouri High School Swim Championships at Columbia Hickman High.

Freeman placed fifth in the 50-meter freestyle in 24.82 seconds and sixth in the 100 freestyle in 55.06 to earn all-state. Both times also met All-American consideration standards.

Freeman was also a member of Central's 200- and 400-meter relay teams which placed eighth and 12th respectively. The 200 squad, which also included Laura Dombrowski, Jean Maguire and Jennifer Freeze, clocked 1:45.40. The 400 team, comprised of the same foursome, timed 3:54.03.

As a team, Central placed 13th out of 73 squads with 31 points. St. Louis Lafayette won the meet with 203 points.
