~ Southeast's leading scorer from last season can return to campus.

Southeast Missouri State senior forward Brandon Foust will be allowed back in school.

Southeast coach Scott Edgar has not yet decided if the Redhawks' leading scorer from last year will be allowed back with the basketball program.

Southeast announced in a press release Wednesday that the university judicial process has determined that Foust will be allowed to continue as a student at Southeast.

That had been in question after a recent altercation in a campus dormitory resulted in Foust being prohibited from campus and school-related activities. Foust has not yet practiced with the Redhawks.

In the press release, Edgar said: "Brandon and I appreciate the opportunity for him to continue as a student. Along with him, I am apologetic for this incident and the exposure that has occurred.

"We look to move forward. After further consideration, I will make a determination of Brandon's future with the men's basketball program."

The release said that Edgar would have no further comment at this time.

Foust, a transfer from Oklahoma, played his first season with the Redhawks last year and led them in scoring with an average of 12.1 points per game. He was second in rebounding at 5.6 per contest.

A member of the Ohio Valley Conference all-newcomer team last year, Foust was recently selected to the 10-player preseason all-OVC squad.

The Redhawks began practice Friday. They play their first exhibition game Nov. 1 against Division II Lincoln. The regular season begins Nov. 10 at Xavier.
