Former Southeast Missouri State women's basketball player Tiffanne Ryan was recently named a winner of the eighth annual John McLendon Memorial Minority Postgraduate Scholarship Award.
Ryan is one of six recipients nationally for the award. Each receives a $10,000 grant to be used toward postgraduate studies in athletics administration.
Ryan, a guard who played at Southeast four seasons from 2002 through 2006, is attending Ohio University, where she is enrolled in the dual degree program (MBA and sport administration).
At Southeast, Ryan was an honors student who graduated with a degree in sports management and a minor in business administration.
To be eligible for the John McLendon Memorial Minority Postgraduate Scholarship Award, students were required to have at least a 3.0 grade point average and to have demonstrated leadership qualities on an institutional or community level.
