Former Notre Dame standout Ryan Willen was named the Patriot League's player of the week Monday after the sophomore scored 47 points in a pair of Lafayette College victories last week.

The 6-foot-8 Willen scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-11 shooting against Columbia, then netted 20 points in an 84-74 victory against Holy Cross.

Willen is the Leopards' third-leading scorer with 10.8 points a game. He also is averaging 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Lafayette is 10-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Willen is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame.
