Kennett 22, Sikeston 20

Kennett traveled to Sikeston, the Indians second consecutive road game in as many weeks — and escaped with a 22-20 victory.

On fourth-and-4 with 7:21 remaining in the fourth quarter, Kennett’s Marquiese Pittman had trouble handling the snap in the Wildcat formation and was stopped for a loss.

Sikeston’s next drive stalled, which gave Kennett one more chance at the 5:36 mark of the fourth.

Special teams saved the day for the Indians, with Kylan Henson racing down the sideline. Sikeston tackled him at the Bulldog 3.

Kennett’s offensive line helped Pittman power through on a first down play for a TD, and he added the subsequent two-point conversion for a 22-20 lead.

Je’Micko Toliver registered a key tackle for loss on Sikeston’s next drive.

Kennett improved to 3-0 heading into next week’s game versus Caruthersville at Metz Cherry Stadium.

Malden has its Homecoming game against Chaffee.
