ST. LOUIS -- Roman Turek stopped 25 shots for his second shutout and Craig Conroy scored a goal, helping the Calgary Flames blank the St. Louis Blues 3-0 Sunday night.
The loss dropped the Blues back into ninth place in the Western Conference playoff standings. St. Louis has 78 points with 10 games remaining. The Blues have reached the postseason for 24 consecutive years, the longest professional sports streak.
Calgary remained sixth in the conference with 82 points. Nashville picked up a point in a 3-2 overtime loss Sunday at Detroit and is in seventh with 79. The Los Angeles Kings, 5-1 winners over Anaheim on Sunday, jumped over the Blues into the final playoff spot with 79 points.
The Flames are unbeaten in their last five games at 3-0-2.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak by St. Louis, which entered the game unbeaten in its last five.
This was the fourth and final meeting between the clubs and they finished 2-2. Both of Calgary's wins came in St. Louis.
The Flames took a 1-0 lead just 2:46 into the game. Marcus Nilson scored under the pad of goalie Chris Osgood, who is one win shy of 300 for his career. Nilson ripped a slap shot from the right faceoff circle.
The Blues didn't get their first on goal until 10:30 of the first period and were outshot 8-6 in the period.
Late in the second period, Conroy deflected in the puck for a 2-0 lead. Jordan Leopold, who also assisted on the first goal, took a shot from the point. Conroy, standing in a group in front of the net, touched the puck, giving him eight points in his last four games.
Conroy had three assists in Saturday's 4-4 tie at Nashville.
Calgary added an empty-net goal by Chris Simon with 1:16 to go.
Turek, a former Blues goaltender, has 26 shutouts in his career. It was just Turek's fifth win this season against 10 losses.
Notes: D Chris Pronger is the only member of the Blues who has played in every game this season. RW Mark Rycroft, a scratch for the game with Calgary, did not play in Saturday's game with Columbus because of a charley horse in his right leg. Rycroft hurt his leg in Thursday's game with Nashville when he was checked into the boards. ... Blues C Doug Weight is one assist shy of 600 in his career and LW Keith Tkachuk is one assist shy of 400 in his career.
