We're also too hot for TV
JERRY SPRINGER in the pages of the sports section and the entertainment section on the same day? You guys rock!
Clicking off baseball
WHAT TYPE of boneheads are running the major league baseball players union? That they would even consider going on strike because they're not sure if their salaries are large enough ... Hey, these guys get paid a couple million dollars a year. Isn't that enough? And now they want to go on strike just as the NFL starts? Hey, no big deal. We'll just watch football. Forget baseball.
How did that get there?
WAIT A second. Was that really some news on the Illini -- with a picture to boot -- in Wednesday's Southeast Missourian? Keep it up!
No games, no fan
IF THE ballplayers go on strike, I'll never buy another ticket.
Losing the focus
I THINK the headlines on the sports page shows how ridiculous the sports reports are. I'm not knocking Tiger -- I think he's a great player and has great control -- but it's wrong that they talk about him when he wins and still talk about him when he loses. What about the person who beat Tiger?
High road, low road
IT'S NICE to see KFVS has taken the high road and decided to cover the sickness of student-athletes at Southeast this past week, while the Missourian has again taken the road of least resistence and not covered the situation after its first occurance.
Actually, after the Southeast Missourian was the first to report the story Aug. 13, we published daily updates in the Aug. 14, 15 and 16 editions.
No need for a stadium
IF THE baseball players go on strike, the Cardinals don't need to worry about a new stadium.
Ouch! That hurts
I'D RATHER take a poke in the eye than to watch baseball again if those bozos strike.
