Support on the road

I WOULD like to thank the group of Southeast fans that attended the Indians' game at SIU. The handful of fans did a fantastic job of making a lot of noise from start to finish. It would be nice to see that same typr of atmoshpere created at the Show Me Center. SIU does a tremendous job of keeping their fans in the games. They have great alumni support and 500 to 600 students pack their section every night, and they stand and cheer for the entire game. Everyone in the building stands and claps until the Salukis score their first basket of each half. SIU has made The Arena an extremely tough place to play for the opposition, and we need to do the same at the Show Me Center.

The wrong name

YOU DON'T cover anything south of basically Scott City, especially in your All-Star Team for football. There's nobody from Caruthersville. If you're going to call yourself the Southeast Missourian, you need to at least cover Southeast Missouri.

As it was pointed out with the Southeast Missourian All-Star Team list, our focus is on the 21 high schools in the Cape Girardeau area, six of which compete in football. Those teams are eligible for the Southeast Missourian All-Star Teams.

Priorities are wrong

HEAD FOOTBALL coaches should not have to teach any classes. High school sports are of so much more significance that it's stupid to ask coaches to take up their valuable time by teaching academic subjects.
