Good job, Bulldogs Congratulations to coach Bill Davis and the state champion cross country team at Notre Dame. I'm not sure how many coaches have won state championships at more than one school in any sport but I'm sure it's not many. I have seen first-hand the winning style coach Davis uses to get the most out of his athletes. Not only do they excel but they genuinely like him as well. It's great to see that nice guys don't always finish last...

Two QB system

THANK YOU for placing the statistics for Central quarterback Garrett Stevens in Fan Speak on Nov. 6. I wonder how many yards he would have had if he did not get hurt in the Jackson game. Blake Slattery did an excellent job stepping in. Coach Lawrence Brookins would be wise to use them both next year. I do not think there is another team in the district that could match that talent.

Free speech for T.O.

So Terrell Owens has a big mouth and says things his team owner doesn't like. What happened to freedom of speech? I don't like what Owens said, but it's our choice to ignore him or change the channel when he comes on. I think it's wrong for a person to be punished for utilizing his right to free speech.

Bowling merits publicity

Talk about a double standard. There should be more publicity given to bowling. Bowling scores last week in the Southeast Missourian showed a woman bowled a 300 game. That deserves special news. Also, a state senior tournament began last week in Jackson and continues this weekend. That also deserves special sports news. Not everyone is interested in football and basketball.
