Equal coverage

I SURE hope that the sports department will cover the local schools' athletic schedules the same way it covered the golf tournament. All we saw was pages of pictures of kids from other states. I think our local kids deserve the same coverage.

Let them run

I WAS excited to see the article on the ultra marathon runners in the sports page. I have been acquainted with two of the three interviewed. To my dismay, the idea that the marathon has lost its status due to just anybody being able to run is ludicrous. I say if a marathon is on your bucket list and a person wants to put forth the effort to finish then go for it. Who knows, you might inspire someone that is less fit to get up off the sofa and race. I think it's rather pompous and condescending to say only true racers and trained athletes should be allowed to compete.
