Under Missouri State High School Activities Association guidelines, the first day fall sports teams can begin practicing is Monday.
All athletes must have a completed physical and proof of insurance before they can participate.
Following are the times of the first day's practices for the various fall sports at Cape Girardeau Central and Notre Dame. Practices are at the high schools unless noted.
Cape Central
Football: 8 a.m.
Volleyball: 7-10 a.m. and 7-8 p.m.
Girls tennis: 9 a.m.
Cross country: 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Softball: 9-11 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. (at Arena Park)
Boys soccer: 6 a.m. for grades 9-10 and 7 a.m. for grades 11-12 (there will be a parents meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Room 54 at the high school)
Jr. high football: 8 a.m. for grade 9 (grade 8 begins practice Aug. 22)
Notre Dame
Volleyball: 9 a.m.
Softball: 8-10 a.m. and 6:30-8 p.m.
Boys soccer: 8-10 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Cross country: 6 p.m.
