The second annual Ken Hayden Memorial Golf Tournament raised nearly $12,000 to benefit Saint Francis Women's HeartAdvantage.
Sponsored by The Friends of Saint Francis, the mixed double scramble tournament took place May 23 at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
"This tournament is for an excellent cause and is in memory of a beloved member of the Cape Girardeau community," said Janet Esicar, president of the Friends of Saint Francis.
Added Saint Frances executive director William H. Kiel: "Saint Francis is pleased to honor the memory of Ken through this tournament and the tremendous response proves how much he was respected in our community."
The winning team in the championship flight consisted of Lisa Billings, Rob Litz, LouAnn Kiefner and Jim Limbaugh. Finishing second was the team of Robin Davis, Lyle Davis, Mary Kay Poljan and Mark Kneer. Placing third was the team of Mary Kistner, Jim McElreath, Susie Seib and Dan Seib.
In Flight A, the team of Lisa Bjelich, Steve Bjelich, Linda Groesbeck and Doug Groesbeck placed first. The team of Kathy Gaulding, Bill Tegel, Diana Brown and Allen Willison placed second. The third-place team consisted of Barbara Thompson, Mark Thompson, Trinka Hileman and Steve Hileman.
In Flight B, Janet Vernon, John Abercrombie, Patricia Ray and Dr. Joel Ray formed the first-place team. Second place went to the team of Glenda Hayden, Jerry Monteith, Judy Wilferth and Rock Wilferth. In third place was the team of Bonnie McCulley, Chris Cobb, Leslie Stanfield and Bobby James.
Proceeds benefit Saint Francis Women's HeartAdvantage, a program dedicated to educating women about heart disease and its symptoms.
