The Eagle Ridge girls basketball team will compete in the National Association of Christian Athletes National Tournament this week in Dayton, Tenn.

Eagle Ridge received the invitation after recently winning the Class 2A Missouri State Christian Athletic Association Tournament.

The will play in an eight-team division at the national tournament, which begins Wednesday and concludes Friday.

"It's going to be interesting to see how we compete and stack up against other schools from other states," said Eagle Ridge athletic director Clint Karnes.

Fifty-six state champion teams -- 24 girls, 32 boys -- will be at the tournament. Eagle Ridge, coached by Donna Powell, is 18-3 after winning its first state championship.-- Jeff Breer
