The Division of Youth Services won the flag football tournament for Division II of the Corporate Games on Tuesday night, strengthening its lead in the Olympic-style competition among employee-based organizations with fewer than 100 employees.
DYS defeated MedAssets for the Divison II football title.
Procter & Gamble won the football tournament for Division I, open to organizations of more than 100 employees, and inched closer to division leader TG Missouri.
TG Missouri finished second.
Updated overall standings were not available from the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, which coordinates the two-week competition.
Through the weekend, TG Missouri had 420 points with Procter & Gamble second at 350 in Division I. Southeast Missouri Hospital was a distant third at 200 and Blue Cross/Blue Shield was fourth at 180.
DYS and MedAssets were tied atop Division II heading into Monday's two events at 350, but DYS took the lead Monday. Big River Telephone was third at 320.
The competition continues tonight with swimming relays and innertube water polo at Central Municipal Pool. Dodgeball is set for Thursday at A.C. Brase Arena, and the event concludes with trivia and a mystery event Friday night at Osage Community Centre.
