Dexter's Derek Demaree poured in 37 points Friday night as the top-seeded Bearcats won their fifth straight Stoddard County Conference Tournament championship, beating second-seeded Bell City 77-68 at Bloomfield High School.

The 6-foot-4 Demaree entered the contest averaging about 12 points.

Chris Hyten added 18 points for the Bearcats (14-3) while Preston Clark had 10 as Dexter built a 34-27 halftime lead and went ahead 52-39 after three quarters.

Bell City (16-3) received 20 points from Domintrix Johnson, 12 from Zak McIntyre, 11 from Kenyon Wright and 10 from both Eric Henry and A.J. Henry.

In the third-place game, third-seeded Advance beat fourth-seeded Bloomfield 67-41.

Jared Ritter paced the Hornets (12-5) with 27 points. Zach Hudson added 12.

Bloomfield (10-9) got 17 points from Tim Perry.

Dexter also won the junior varsity title as the top-seeded Bearcats downed No. 2 Advance 52-42. No. 4 Woodland finished third with a 44-30 win over No. 3 Bell City.

Jackson 48, Windsor 35

Jackson finished fifth in the Fox Tournament by winning the consolation title.

The Indians (10-11) were led by Jason Schafer with 14 points. Jeff Beck had 11 and Tyler McNeely added 10.

Jackson trailed 20-17 at halftime but outscored Windsor 12-4 in the third quarter to take control.

Scott City 59, Hayti 40

Scott City used a zone defense to shut down Hayti and post a 19-point home victory.

The Rams (10-5) were led by D.J. Walton with 22 points. Andy Beck added 11 points and Tyler Ward blocked nine shots.

"It was a real good game for us," Scott City coach Kerry Thompson said. "Our zone was effective and we got a lot of contributions from our bench."

Scott County Central 97, Chaffee 68

Scott County Central closed in on the .500 mark by pounding host Chaffee.

The Braves (9-10) received 18 points from Chris Pullen, 17 from Chris Monroe, 15 from Matt Holman and 11 from Avis White.

The Red Devils (1-12) were paced by Sam Burnett with 21 points and James Reischman with 19.

Oran 54, Leopold 38

Oran's stingy defense held Leopold to just 10 first-half points as the Eagles romped at home. Oran led 26-10 at halftime.

Patrick Friga's 17 points paced the Eagles (15-4). Nathan Seyer added 12.

Leopold (3-12) was led by Josh Van de Ven's 15 points. Kevin Holzum contributed 12.

Delta 63, Oak Ridge 45

Delta used a strong first half to roll past host Oak Ridge. The Bobcats led 31-21 at halftime and then broke things wide open with a 14-3 third-quarter edge.

Daniel Cook led the Bobcats (4-11) with 14 points. Joey Keys and Vince Flores each added 12.

Oak Ridge (1-13) was paced by Alex Fadler's 20 points.

Sikeston 62, Kelly 44

Lontas McClinton pumped in 20 points and Lavar Morgan had 18 as Sikeston (7-10) knocked off host Kelly (6-9).

Michael Scherer led the Hawks with 14 points.

Zalma 79, Marquand 66

Zalma rolled to a 52-36 halftime lead and cruised on the road.

Chad Wiseman scored 26 points to lead the Bulldogs (5-8), who got 20 points from Jamie Mangrum and 10 from David Hovis.

Marquand (0-12) was led by Adam Statler with 23 points.

New Salem 83, Pathway Christian 35

New Salem Baptist Academy of Marble Hill picked up an easy road win over Pathway Christian of Blytheville, Ark.

Andrew Conway led New Salem (16-9) with 20 points. Also in double figures were Johnathan Davault with 15, Boone Gaines and Daniel Lewis with 12 each, and Josiah Davault and Brett Jones with 10 apiece.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Nerinx Hall 55, Jackson 42

Jackson's recent struggles continued as Nerinx Hall from St. Louis rolled past the host Indians.

The Indians (10-6), who trailed 23-14 at halftime and 38-24 after three quarters, got 22 points from Jenna Leet and 11 from Ashley Bartels. No other Jackson player scored more than three points.

Nerinx Hall (12-9) was led by Bridget Bailey with 17 points.

"We're not playing good at all right now," Jackson coach Ron Cook said.

New Salem 53, Pathway 47

Sarah Green led New Salem Baptist Academy to a road victory over Pathway Christian with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

MacKenzie Jones added 14 rebounds to go with seven points for New Salem (15-7).
