The Dexter Bearcat tennis team fell 9-0 to Notre Dame on Tuesday. Dexter went into the match short handed with Peyton Boles unable to compete due to an injury.
“Notre Dame is definitely the best team in Southeast Missouri,” said Dexter coach Eric Boles. “We had to move all of our players up a level, due to an injury to my #1, so they were all playing out of their normal positions.”
Kylan Moore and Clayton Whitaker got their first chance at a varsity match with the line up shuffle.
Im doubles Dexter's Lawson Blocker and Drew Chamberlain fell to Charlie West and MatthewAustin 8-1, Dexter's Cooper Worley and Kylan Moore lost to Thomas Southard Eli Youngblood 8-6 in a very tightly contested match and Dexter's Logan Jones Rhyder Williams fell to Michael Bogdanovich and Owen Blattel 8-4.
Notre Dame swept the singles matches as well. The singles results were:Blocker lost to West 8-2, Worley fell to Austin 8-2, Chamberlain lost to Southard 8-0, Jones fell to Youngblood 8-4, Williams was defeated by Blattel 8-0 and ClaytonWhitaker lost to Schreckenberg 8-0.
Notre Dame will next be in action when they host Sikeston on April 12 and Dexter will host Poplar Bluff on April 6.
